This case discussed the events that happened during a difference in DSS Consulting's organizational composition. Three retired school region administrators proven DSS Asking during the overdue 1990's. The organization offered administrative support to small college districts located within the mid-west and mountain west area. They specialized in handling the negotiating of labor negotiating as well as rendering of permanent system solutions designed to enable those businesses to run proficiently.
The firm skilled a significant amount of success during their early years, that has been primarily caused by the founder's personal relationships within every school section that utilized their providers. The demand intended for the services offered by DSS grew quickly given the changing dynamic of challenges experienced by every district. Some of the challenges relevant to reductions in budgets and subsequent decrease of management staff. The firm organized themselves to allow for the enhancements made on services demands of their customers. As a result, DSS designed a great organizational composition that consisted of the 4 areas of field of expertise: Procurement and Systems, Information Technology, Contract Arbitration and Features Planning.
By the mid-2000's, DSS experienced some significant changes in their particular organizational structure and their customer base. It was during this period that the creators of the company reduced the amount of time these people were spending in client engagement and depending upon the expertise of the administration teams for every single specialized area. As a result, a gap was created surfacing the need for a technique for getting and keeping new business.
